This engaging talk took place at Redlands Art Gallery on 18 August 2024, led by exhibition curators Beth Jackson and Jo-Anne Driessens speaking to the exhibition motivations. The exhibition ran at Redlands Art Gallery from 18 August-1 October 2024. There were also short talks from lead artists Keith Armstrong, donna davis and Andrea Higgins. Before the talk we were welcomed onto Quandamooka Country by local Traditional Owner, Uncle Raymond Walker.
Carbon_Dating is an experimental artwork designed to seed ‘consensual’ partnerships between Australian native grasses and humans, based upon their shared need to breathe each other’s ‘exhaled’ air.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the many lands on which we live, work and create, including our collaborators on Yirrganydji, Barunggam, Jagera/Yuggera, Turbal, Ugarapul, Jinibara, Kabi Kabi and Kombumerri Country.
